A Day at the Market

It was a very cold, very snowy Saturday in Toronto this past weekend (note the rosy cheeks and red nose).

Most people probably stayed inside with a cup of tea and some homemade cookies, and didn't change out of their pjs until 3 in the afternoon. That's one of my favourite things to do.

I bet some people didn't even wake up until 3. Nothin' wrong with that right?

But this time I looked at this weather as an opportunity to go to St. Lawrence Market without wanting to throw a wheel of cheese at everyone in front of me.

You see, it gets really crowded at the market, and I get really frustrated. It's usually not a good experience.

Trust me, you don't want to be in my way when I'm food shopping. It's dangerous.

There are a bunch of fancy shmancy mustards to favourites are Olive Oil and Balsamic & Fig. They're really spicy - the kind of kick you get from horseradish. I could imagine it slathered over a grilled Italian sausage....mmm.

I miss grilling. Hmm...

I miss Summer.

I love Cheese.

Funny thing...I stopped at a booth to sample some wine. They were promoting a new aerating attachment that allows you to get the effect of decanting your wine without having to actually decant the whole bottle.

This man tried to convince me of how an opened bottle of wine still tastes fine after the 3rd day.

Pfffft. Sorry Mr. After 1 day, that wine becomes cooking wine to me. I mean, it's drinkable, but it's definitely not the same.

So HA! I got it out of my system.
